Welcome to a New Season!
|
Destination Imagination is a team-based, creative project competition and one of the most popular extracurriculars in Wauwatosa! In 2024–25, more than 120 students from nearly every school in the district participated. Sign up your child today! We will continue to accept students as long as we can accommodate them on teams.
Important Information about DI in Tosa: *To the extent possible, teams are school-based. Sometimes we can't find enough students from a particular school and have to combine with another school--which is awesome too, because it means kids make new friends! *DI is open to all students in grades K–12. DI has four levels: early learners (Rising Stars) (K–2); elementary (3–5); middle (6–8); and secondary (9–12). Teams can be mixed-grade within those levels. * Teams can have anywhere from 2 to 7 students. Each team MUST have at least one adult team manager who keeps the team on track but does not interfere or assist with the team's solution. If we don't find enough team managers, we may not able to accommodate all interested students. * We hope to have all teams formed by early December. After that, team managers will determine the meeting schedule for their own team. Most teams meet once a week for 60 to 90 minutes, with more time added as needed before the first competition. * All teams will be invited to participate in the regional tournament on Saturday, March 14, in Germantown. Competitive (non–Rising Stars) teams that do well enough at regionals advance to the affiliate (state) tournament on Saturday, April 11, in Sun Prairie, near Madison. The final level of competition is Global Finals, which will take place in May. *Fees: $125/student for Rising Stars (grades K–2) $165/student for competitive teams (grades 3–12) Financial assistance is available for families who need it.
